I gathered the evidence, examined myself, prayed for consideration, and presented what I had to the Lord. He has agreed with the conviction, and He will step down from His throne to deliver the judgment Himself.

However, I am also responsible for those who believe me. I am responsible for the Shaman States of America.

So I want to make sure we understand that these are two related but separate things. The Punishment Phase belongs to the Lord. The reboot, as it pertains to those who believe me, is my responsibility to direct.

The charges are the same, but they will be handled across two groups. There will be overlap, but this message is a courtesy to those who believe me because I promised I would provide clarity.

It is also an extension of how the Lord works. He does not strike without cause. He does not strike without warning.

You had both.

You were warned.

Based on the evidence I have, a reboot is in order. We will discuss the reboot in the next part, but I want to be clear: this is a new order. We are defining how life, worship, power, and accountability will be handled from this point forward.

There are seven offenses.

I am going to walk through them one by one. They do not require much explanation because they are largely self-evident. But because the Lord will always be more merciful than I am, I am going to use this time to speak plainly.

1. Homophobia

I know what some of you are thinking:

“CK, it was only declared a sin on May 21, 2026.”

That is true.

But your cruelty has been evergreen.

Yes, the Lord intended male and female covenant relationships for His selected people, for those He was in covenant with. But there is a wide world beyond that, and even within covenant spaces, this was never meant to become what you made it.

Human greed and human cruelty made it a weapon.

You twisted what was simply different into permission to abuse, exclude, scapegoat, and endanger your queer siblings.

And they are your siblings.

They are your brothers, sisters, and siblings in Christ whether you want to believe it or not. Whether you want to accept it or not, it is the truth, and you know it.

So yes, as of May 21, 2026, it is classified as sin. That means it goes against God’s will and grieves the Holy Spirit.

And every time you grieve the Holy Spirit, you move closer to the Lord stepping down from His throne to correct you and hand out consequences.

With Jubilee coming on September 20, you are now going to receive the full consequences of your greed and cruelty.

2. Xenophobia

You targeted immigrants.

You celebrated their deaths.

You punished those who criticized cruelty publicly, and you punished those who made that cruelty visible.

And as much as I could isolate this to immigrants, I will not. Scripture gives us chapter after chapter about welcoming the stranger among you and treating them as your own. But you considered that too soft. You refused to consider it because they were not you, and you needed someone to be cruel to.

But it did not stop there.

You also targeted people within your own communities — people you did not consider rich enough, useful enough, respectable enough, or socially acceptable enough.

You isolated them.

You made them disposable.

You agreed among yourselves that cruelty toward them was acceptable.

That is sin.

You knew that.

The mistreatment of the stranger among you has been condemned far more often and far more clearly than homosexuality has ever been addressed in Scripture. But you did not want to accept that.

That is fine.

You are going to reap the consequences now.

3. Rape

Rape includes sexual force, coercion, molestation, unwanted sexual advances, unwanted emotional pressure, unwanted touching, sexual harm, and the systems that protect those who commit these acts.

You wanted to claim that our queer siblings were endangering children while refusing to look at your own brothers, sons, fathers, leaders, and friends.

You refused to talk about what happened to you.

You refused to talk about what you turned a blind eye to.

You excused sexual assault, molestation, coercion, and the apologetics surrounding Trump, Epstein, and the people protected by their power.

And it was not only them.

You also protected those within your churches, your families, your friend groups, your leadership circles, and your own spaces.

That is wrong.

That is sinful.

You knew this.

You did not care.

Now you will receive the consequences for it.

4. Theft

Theft is a broad offense here, and I am astounded by how much theft, laundering, and embezzlement has gone on among you.

You stole money.

You stole property.

You stole people away from truth.

You stole opportunities, support, peace, material goods, and access.

Then you laundered what you stole through homes, land, startups, ministries, projects, businesses, and public-facing “good works,” while condemning anyone who questioned you.

You blackballed people.

You falsely accused people.

You destroyed reputations to protect what you had stolen.

For what?

It is all coming out in the wash anyway.

And when people questioned you, you moved to the next offense.

5. Blackmail

You silenced opposition through threats, smear campaigns, social punishment, and the withholding of support from vulnerable people, including people with ill family members.

More than once, you paid for support, therapy, pastoral care, counseling, or confidential help — only to use the information gathered there against the person who trusted you.

You used people’s pain as leverage.

You used their confessions as weapons.

You used their vulnerability as a leash.

Do not think I did not know.

I have heard my own words, spoken in places that were legally or morally supposed to be confidential, repeated back to me and used against me. The number of times is staggering.

At this point, I cannot be sure that I have not been recorded, or that recordings have not been circulated.

That is how far this has gone.

6. Murder

Now we address the elephant in the room.

In August 2024, you were warned.

I told you that nearly two dozen little girls were in danger of losing their lives. I used the best language I had at the time, even though I hated using it.

And how did you respond?

You called me a prostitute.

You called me crazy.

You called me attention-seeking.

You answered the warning with a smear campaign.

That alone is enough to level this conviction against you.

But it is only a fraction of the deaths connected to your neglect, oppression, cruelty, and campaigns of destruction.

There are also the quieter deaths.

There are those who died by suicide after being crushed by blackmail, isolation, smear campaigns, and targeted cruelty.

There are people among you who have deliberately driven others toward suicide.

Do not pretend the Lord has not seen this.

The Lord has seen it.

The Lord is now active.

Just because it was not loud does not mean it was not noticed.

7. False Witness

False witness is the root.

This was the beginning of it all: your willingness, and even your joy, in lying about anyone whose truth threatened your image, power, or identity.

You enjoyed gossip.

You enjoyed lying.

You thought it was fun.

It became the centerpiece.

It became a watch party.

It became the subject of group chats.

I will speak for myself here: in fourteen years, no one has come to me in good faith to ask about the things they heard about me.

Not one.

Even now, even after the things I told you would happen have happened, not one of you has accepted the invitation to come and speak to me directly.

But you were more than happy to speak to others.

You were more than happy to repeat the lies.

I am one of the stronger ones. I am going to be fine.

But many people have been crushed under the weight of what you called fun.

And for these things, and many others, I declare you guilty.

The Lord has looked upon this and judged you guilty as well.

The Punishment Phase

From August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, you will go through a series of events designed to do one simple thing:

You will be forced to lift up your heads.

The people you oppressed, dismissed, mocked, isolated, and looked down upon will now stand eye to eye with you.

And you will have to account for, be accountable to, and suffer the full consequences of everything I have witnessed over nearly twenty years — compressed into one year.

For those within the Shaman States of America, the next recording will address the reboot.

We will talk about those of you with supernatural powers, those who work with divination, those who hunt, those who lead, and those who have already noticed that things have shifted.

Things are not the same.

You are not getting the responses you are used to.

That is on purpose.

But that is for the next recording.

For now, I am going to calm down, and we are all going to sit with this.

I will talk to you soon.

[her ongoing candor] SSoA Judgment Overview

Watch now | Where Sique gives you the overview on the offenses that has lead to the Shaman States of America reboot.

Chrishaun Keller

Hello all, Chrishaun here from Caramel Sugarevil, breaking in with a Jubilee update.

First, thank you for the congratulations and well wishes regarding my assignment as Liturgist of the Hunt. I am honored, excited, and looking forward to sharing what the Lord has planned for us in the year ahead.

Before we move forward, I need to set some context.

I am the Director of Research and Development for Caramel Sugarevil, which equips Hunters for the Hunt within the Shaman States of America: the continental United States and its territories. I am speaking specifically to those who are Christian, who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and who believe I was sent by them.

That collective body is now officially recognized as the Shaman States of America, or SSoA.

Many of you know me. You know I love the Lord, and you know I love you. You also know I have not been quiet about how the Lord sees these matters. Homosexuality was never the problem. The Lord’s concern has always been the scapegoating, cruelty, and violence built around it. Family matters to Him, yes, but cruelty against queer siblings was never holiness.

Over the last fourteen years of this assignment, that cruelty has produced serious offenses: homophobia, xenophobia, rape, sexual harassment, child endangerment, child molestation, theft, blackmail, false witness, and murder. These offenses have been used to keep people quiet, protect power, and punish those who would tell the truth.

This has led to deaths, including the deaths of 25 children and others who died by suicide after blackmail, smear campaigns, isolation, and fear.

The Lord sees this. The Lord is active.

And before anyone asks about forgiveness: you have been forgiven. That is why you still have your lives. The full consequence would have been total destruction and a clean start. But because the Lord is merciful, there will be a reboot instead.

This reboot establishes the boundaries, shifts, and changes necessary to ensure we never experience this again.

The offenses are as follows: homophobia, xenophobia, rape, theft, blackmail, murder, and false witness. I will address each one in detail.

The high points of the reboot are these:

We are no longer the protectors of non-powered citizens, or NPCs. All protection agreements will become null and void on August 1. Any violation will result in the loss of Sight and powers.

We are being reestablished as a Christian Essentialist nation: Cultural first, Practicing second. We will live what we believe before we profess and evangelize what we believe.

Hunteranc is completely zeroed out. All rankings, roles, advanced powers, teams, and team powers have been wiped. Any power received from a specter or slime has been removed, with the full effects beginning August 1.

All Hunters are now on Moonlight Shift, Thursday through Sunday. Everyone must relearn their 70K before returning to hunteranc.

I will speak more about the offenses and the reboot in detail, but I wanted to release this first so no one is confused about what is happening.

I’ll speak to you in the next video.

Until then — to the Hunt.

[the essentialism devotional] Dispensations, Tests, and Gifts.

Today, Sique adds her two cents about these three since you're not gonna ask...

Chrishaun Keller

Still, Pharaoh’s heart became obstinate, and he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

Then the Lord said to Moses: “Pharaoh’s heart is unresponsive. The Lord sees this and is active.

There are also folks that will tell you that what I desire is to harm you without any consideration for your circumstances. That is false. My targets have always been the same:

Those that are actively fighting to keep you from engaging with me so you can get your own answers and make your own choices.

Those that help them to this end, and

Those who know the truth, can speak on it but choose to do nothing.

And so we are clear - if you claim ignorance of me, my abilities, my protection, or my spiritual work, but then try to get info out of me (asking me if I’m going to Ghana, or trying to press me into having conversations I told you were over), or deflect direct questions I have asked of you, then you are in groups b or c.

The full and complete truth is the only way out of that.

Now that we have that out of the way, I thought I’d take some time and talk about another sticking point:

Dispensations, Tests, and Gifts.

I use all three in my work consistently, and it has been twisted into “If you don’t give me a house, a Bronco, and 150,000 a month, I will destroy you” when it is so much more (and less) than that.

A dispensation is a season of testing in which the Lord decides how He will act against you according to His Will and Purpose.

He will tell you where you have been found lacking

He will tell you what you need to do to correct it

The consequences for not acting quickly or at all

A settlement that’s acceptable to Him if you move slowly but intend to obey Him

He would have sent this warning and help in many ways:

Information

Experts and/or trusted friends.

Financial support

If I (Sique) am the one telling you this, you have ignored A LOT OF WARNINGS, ADVICE, & SUPPORT. I am the final warning. I am the last voice you hear on the subject before it begins.

Once the consequences have started, the settlement is no longer available to you.

Because the thing you miss when you focus on the house, the SUV, and the money is that I am asking for THE TRUTH.

If you tell yourself the full and complete truth and act on it, there’s no need for a dispensation. And for those that ask “Why didn’t God just not [fill in the blank]?” The answer is simple: there are consequences for disobeying God. Please do not mistake or replace your comfort for God’s Will. All this playing in my face, lying to me, then asking if I’m going to save something you care about is over. You will tell me the truth or you will lose everything that created or maintained your identity.

Tests are specific requests made from the Lord. While fulfilling the request weighs heavily on the choices He makes, the entire process is taken into consideration.

For instance, many of you know that I’ve requested a cello. I asked the Lord for one, and His response was to make it a test. So I have posted and shared with folks that I would like one:

Here’s a link so you can take a look.

The test isn’t whether I will receive it. The test is what will keep someone from providing it to me. That has always been the test and always what the Lord was looking for.

This goes from the folks that are nerfing my organic reach online, to those that would declare from the platform that I’m all kinds of demons and prostitutes, to the said and unsaid threats to those that would help me, to the gossip that flows between you, and the flying monkeys sent to see how I’m reacting.

The entire process is observed and noted, and the Lord through the Holy Spirit leads me in the direction I need to go.

So yes, those times that you celebrated because you were able to keep something from me was a fail. It has been cateloged and used to determine the consequences you receive.

So we’re clear- if you don’t want to support me, that is your God-given right. But what we’re not going to do and what you will be stricken for is preventing others to help me as they have means and through the lens of empathy, truth, kindness, joy, and anti-greed.

If you prevent them from engaging with me, or helping me, you will get receive ruin.

Gifts are things I ask from the Lord. And because I am His Beautiful Anomaly of Controversial Bliss, He answers. I ask for all manner of things:

Updates on folks I’ve worked with

Reminders that I’m on the right track

Reminders of what I’m supposed to be doing

Reminders that He’s proud of me

Reminders that He loves me

A calm mind

Forgiveness when I lose faith

A safe place to cuss y’all and Him out

Do I ask and receive material things from the Lord? Yeah, but I like to ask for things that deepen my relationship with Him.

And the latest gift He’s given me is the drive to create these devotionals and eventually a daily office and the clarity to do what must be done next.

Thanks be to God.

Sique is Powered by the Apocalypse! is a reader-supported publication. The Holy Spirit isn’t grieving because God is fragile, petty, or easily offended.

The Holy Spirit grieves because Truth has been ignored, because the person has been warned, because the harm is no longer accidental, and because what comes next may be consequence.

In Essentialism, we understand life through Faith, Myth, Science, and Spirit, filtered through Empathy, Truth, Kindness, Joy, and Anti-Greed. Sin begins when we refuse those filters. Sin begins when we look at another person and choose cruelty over empathy, control over kindness, ego over truth, punishment over joy, and greed over love.

That means sin is not just private. It is relational; it’s part of every culture and is systemic. It is what happens when shame, guilt, and powerlessness become the glue holding a person’s choices and identity together. A person may believe they are defending God, defending tradition, defending morality, or defending themselves, but the question remains:

What fruit does this action actually produce?

Does it restore? Does it protect? Does it tell the truth? Does it make room for life? Or does it punish, crush, shame, exclude, and control?

The Christian life is a life of personal responsibility. We are not called to punish others into making us comfortable. We are not called to weaponize God against people who do not belong to our covenant. We are not called to make cruelty sound holy out of fear of our own discomfort.

We are called to look inward first.

If your eye causes harm, address your eye. If your hand causes harm, address your hand. If your theology causes harm, address your theology. If your community requires someone else’s suffering in order to preserve its comfort, then the issue is not the person being excluded. The issue is the cruelty being protected.

The Holy Spirit grieves because God sees the heart posture beneath the act. God sees when correction has been offered. God sees when mercy has been extended. God sees when a person keeps choosing harm anyway.

And God is patient. The Bible is filled with God warning, reasoning, delaying, and calling people back before judgment falls. But patience is not permission. Mercy is not consent. Delay is not approval. And continued cruelty, even and especially in God’s name, is signaling to Him that you will not stop and requires Him to leave His throne to stop you.

Sin, then, is continued harmful action after truth has been given. It is the refusal to stop. It is the refusal to take responsibility. It is the refusal to let love correct power.

As Hunters and Essentialists, we recognize and acknowledge that God is active, watching, and engaged. We also recognize that the Holy Spirit is not merely a doctrine to believe in, but Truth Incarnate to work with daily.

So the question is not simply, “Do you believe in God?”

The demons do too.

The question is: when Truth speaks, do you stop?

Sique is Powered by the Apocalypse! is a reader-supported publication. For those who missed it, in August 2024, I prayed to have rape, xenophobia, racism, homophobia, and transphobia classified as sins (meaning they explicitly are against God’s Will, grieve the Holy Spirit, and activate Angels to work against anyone committing these sins).

I also asked that the sky turn red and that a double rainbow and lightning would appear here in Austin, Texarcana.

That happened on May 21, 2026, and it put my brain into a hard reboot (this will be an ongoing theme). THEN I:

visited my father-in-law made of awesome (he was awesome, though we had to continue our yearly conversation about him living alone and our plans about that).

Was confirmed and embedded as an Episcopalian (adding to the list of words I have to learn to pronounce), and attended my first Deaconate Ordination (well organized and equipped with bagels WITH cream cheese, breakfast tacos, and deviled eggs because the Lord loves me and wants me to be happy).

On the essentialism side, I was confirmed as the Liturgist of the Hunt.

“The what, now?”

A liturgist is an authority, compiler, or leader of religious rituals and public worship. Depending on the faith (in this case, essentialism), they may be an ordained clergy member or a trained layperson (this is where I slot in - although I am Djinn and powered, I am NOT ordained) responsible for structuring services, designing the order of worship, and selecting readings. (Google; although the added clarification on essentialism is mine).

So essentially, I have been tasked with compiling and designing the order of worship for the Monster Hunters of the Shaman States of America specifically, and for all those who look in the same direction as us, generally.

And all while I have been formatting the art book, which is coming along. It’s an 8x8-inch soft-bound volume with not only the drawings from the legacy cards but also new illustrations, references, and my thoughts on the process.

So, what does any of this have to do with the art book?

There has been a slight change. Now that spiritual formation is part of my job, I’ve decided to present the art book through an essentialist lens and add the underlying scripture I used to design it, and talk about it a bit on each card.

As always, it will also filter through the four realms (Faith, Myth, Spirit, & Science) so you can easily embed into the religion or denomination of your choice if you believe in God or your Daily Focus practice if you do not.

There’s more to come, but I want to focus on what I already owe you. To that end, I’ve created a table of The Path to Unpunishable cards and the underlying scripture I used for them here so you can follow along as I share them podcast-style, as I did with the legacy set.

For the Kickstarter backers who were getting three emails a day, you’ll be pleased to learn that I will only be sending these to those on the TPTU backer list. If you’re not on that list, you’re invited to join us here on Substack.

And as always, disagreeing with a scripture used here is an invitation to choose one that fits you better and to dive deep into why that is.

Faith Realm: “The Assured Expectation”

Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld. Through Faith, the Hunter confronts the unseen through trust, doctrine, witness, belonging, and holy conviction.

Card 6: The Bound Heart

Ezekiel 36:26 — “I will give you a new heart…”

The Bound Heart becomes a promise of replacement, not repair. God isn’t merely healing the old wound; He gives the heart a new capacity to live.

Card 4: The Chain of Favors

Galatians 6:2 — “Carry each other’s burdens…”

This card is about holy reciprocity. The verse turns obligation into shared care instead of tracking debts or being performative. This is love taking weight seriously.

Card 8: The Light Bearer

Matthew 5:14–16 — “You are the light of the world…”

The Light Bearer is not asked to hide. The verse frames visibility as service: light is not ego when it helps others see.

Card 20: The Open Hand

Deuteronomy 15:7–8 — “Be openhanded…”

The Open Hand becomes Anti-Greed in action. The verse teaches generosity without control, proving that enough becomes holy when it moves.

Card 21: The Inner Home

John 14:23 — “We will come to them and make our home with them.”

Inner Home becomes the place where God dwells without requiring performance. The verse makes safety internal, intimate, and divinely cozy.

Card 22: The Witness

Genesis 16:13 — “You are the God who sees me.”

The Witness is the sacred reversal of invisibility. Hagar’s story makes being seen a form of rescue, dignity, and revelation.

Myth Realm: “The Walking Story ”

Myth is the living pattern beneath story, monster, legend, and archetype. Through Myth, the Hunter confronts what has been named, feared, inherited, exaggerated, worshiped, or weaponized until the story itself becomes the monster itself.

Card 5: The Ghost of Approval

Galatians 1:10 — “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?”

The Ghost of Approval becomes false spirits demanding performance. The verse breaks the spell by asking whose approval has become lord.

Card 9: The Broken Throne

1 Samuel 16:7 — “People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The Broken Throne exposes false kingship. The verse dethrones appearance, status, and image, revealing that God’s judgment moves beneath spectacle.

Card 11: The Unsent Message

Proverbs 18:21 — “The tongue has the power of life and death.”

The Unsent Message becomes the tension between silence and speech. The verse asks whether the withheld word protects life or preserves fear.

Card 12: The Rip

Matthew 9:17 — “Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins.”

Rip becomes holy tearing. The verse shows that some containers must split because the new life inside them cannot be held by the old form.

Card 17: The Untethered

John 8:36 — “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Untethered becomes freedom with spiritual authority behind it. The verse turns release from rebellion into redemption.

Card 23: The Flamekeeper

2 Timothy 1:6 — “Fan into flame the gift of God…”

Flamekeeper becomes stewardship of holy fire. The verse teaches that calling must be tended, not abandoned, hidden, or allowed to go cold.

Science Realm: “The Discipline of Knowing”

Science is the disciplined observation of what is, the tested demonstration of realities that can be studied, named, measured, repaired, and understood. Through Science, the Hunter confronts the world through truth, tools, systems, language, and responsible invention.

Card 1: The Mirror

James 1:23–25 — the hearer who looks in a mirror and acts

Mirror becomes self-knowledge with responsibility. The verse warns against seeing clearly and then refusing to change.

Card 2: The Mouth of Many

James 3:5–10 — the tongue as fire

Mouth of Many becomes the danger of multiplied speech. The verse asks whether language is building blessing or spreading wildfire.

Card 7: The Scissors

Hebrews 4:12 — “The word of God is alive and active… sharper than any double-edged sword.”

The Scissors becomes holy separation. The verse shows that truth cuts not to destroy, but to divide what is living from what is false.

Card 14: The Inked Truth

Habakkuk 2:2 — “Write down the revelation…”

Inked Truth becomes revelation made legible. The verse blesses written witness: truth should be clear enough to be carried forward.

Card 15: The Strict Program

Romans 12:2 — “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Strict Program becomes the reprogramming of survival logic. The verse frames transformation as mental renewal, not punishment.

Card 16: The Compass

Proverbs 3:5–6 — “He will make your paths straight.”

Compass becomes guided discernment. The verse teaches that direction comes from trust, not frantic self-control.

Spirit Realm: “The Life That Remains”

Spirit is the living breath of creation, the evident demonstration of realities felt through body, land, memory, intuition, and endurance. Through Spirit, the Hunter confronts what still lives, still speaks, still roots, and still rises.

Card 3: The Empty Cup

Psalm 23:5 — “My cup overflows.”

Empty Cup becomes the place where provision can be received. The verse does not shame emptiness; it answers it with abundance.

Card 10: The Quiet

1 Kings 19:11–13 — God in the gentle whisper

Quiet becomes the spiritual discipline of listening below spectacle. The verse teaches that God is not always in the fire, wind, or quake.

Card 13: The Stone Spine

Ephesians 6:13 — “Stand your ground…”

Stone Spine becomes embodied endurance. The verse turns standing into spiritual warfare without requiring hardness of heart.

Card 18: The Pulse

Psalm 139:14 — “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Pulse becomes the body’s testimony. The verse treats embodiment as wonder, not burden.

Card 19: The Shaman

Isaiah 61:1 — “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted…”

Shaman becomes sacred assignment. The verse defines power as healing, liberation, comfort, and restoration.

Card 24: Whole

Mark 5:34 — “Your faith has healed you. Go in peace…”

Whole becomes the final blessing of restoration. The verse makes healing more than survival; it becomes peace, identity, and release from affliction.

Thanks be to God.

[today's earworm] Bombs Over Baghdad by Outkast

In Today's Earworm, Sique talks about songs that won't leaves her head until she talks about them. Not that the writing itself was difficult. I actually had a blast, but it was because this book answers a very specific question:

What would I create if I knew I might not come out of this assignment from God alive?

Honestly. I remember telling friends and my therapist that I was afraid to start this assignment because I knew what would happen and was aware of what it would cost me, mainly because I’ve seen what it has cost others.

I have witnessed the toll spiritual work takes on the body, mind, and soul. And before you ask:

“How hard can it be if God gave you the assignment?”

Let me tell you, there's nothing I’d rather be doing. Nothing fulfills me and fills me with joy like this work.

But to answer your question, an assignment is like being an Olympic athlete. You enjoy your sport, but you also train hard, you eat right, you get coaching, you raise money for equipment and travel, specialized healthcare like nutritionists, physical therapy, sports psychologists, and then you compete in qualifying events to be able to earn a spot. For years.

Then you have to be good enough to be a world champion, and then and only then, you’re able to be an Olympian.

And then you need a sponsor to be there. I thank the Lord for Flavor Flav.

All that before your actual event, and all manner of things can happen at the Olympics. Your brain can get frazzled, you can get injured, or you can simply have a bad day. Any of those things, or none of them, can happen and you can lose the gold.

But… but, if everything lines up, you will win the gold.

But was it worth it?

I thought it was when I took this assignment 30 years ago.

I thought it was when I started my “qualifying events” 15 years ago.

In 2022, I was an Olympian, as it were, and I was given a warning that this assignment may very well take my life. And with that in mind, I was to create something that would survive me, something that could be used to assist those who came after me.

This is a common request for those who do spiritual work, whether they are aware of it or not. As they do their work, they begin creating pieces that will become a work seen and cherished by those who need it, exactly when they need it.

What would I make if I believed this work might cost me everything? What would I say if I understood that my obedience may cost me my ego, my reputation, my stability, and my ability to earn? That those who benefited from lies would bury me in those lies, take my truth, and twist it enough to give them power, profit, and authority? That any healing may hurt, and that the thing God placed in my hands might also be the thing that ends the life I knew before?

The answer to that was The Lens — empathy, truth, kindness, joy, and anti-greed — the moral compass that has kept me in the spiritual work game longer, and saner, than most.

It is what I returned to when I was beyond the end of my rope, when I realized I ran out of fumes to run on years ago, when I had used up every respectable explanation for why I kept going.

It is what I would create if this were the last chance.

The last message.

The last door.

My last match in the darkness.

Because the goal, the thing I risked everything to achieve, the thing I’ve been fighting for all these years, was worth it.

Then I kept moving.

Then I pushed through the pain.

Then I won.

I’ll get to what I won at the end. I didn’t put this under “Her Ongoing Candor” for nothing. But the point is that I won, and after a heavy cry, some rest, and the creation of a slightly unhinged limited podcast series that became “Her Ongoing Candor,” I had to ask myself some new questions:

What would I create if I thought this assignment would end me — and it didn’t?

What do you make when the fire of Truth burns through everything false, everything performative, everything built to keep other people comfortable, and somehow you are still standing?

What do you do when you have already been afraid, already been ashamed, already been rejected, already been misunderstood, already been punished — and none of it worked?

You make a roadmap so you’ll never get that lost again.

The Path to Unpunishable is that map.

You see, The Lens is simply the Fruits of the Spirit made practical for me, my creative process, and my spiritual work. But there was something else, something that people always told me that I assumed was The Lens and never gave any more thought to.

I was always told that I had grit. Usually more than they had ever seen. More than anyone else they knew.

What was the key to that? The key that unlocked doors no matter who you were, who you worshipped, and who you loved?

The key is to become unpunishable.

Not untouchable. Not invulnerable. Not cruel. Not above correction, accountability, or consequence.

Unpunishable does not mean nothing can hurt you.

It means punishment no longer gets to define you.

It means shame can knock, but it can’t come in.

It means guilt can speak, but it doesn’t get the final word.

It means the systems that trained you to fear your own voice, your own joy, your own clarity, your own calling, can no longer demand your obedience.

To be unpunishable is to reach the place where truth is more important than approval. Where kindness is not compliance, and knowing that “nice” is a lie just to get along. Where empathy does not require self-erasure. Where joy becomes evidence that God did not create you only to endure. Where anti-greed becomes a refusal to let fear hoard your life.

That has been the key to my success.

Not because I stopped being afraid. Not because everything became easy. But because I stopped letting punishment be the center of the story. I stopped asking, “What will they do to me if I tell the truth?” and started asking, “What becomes possible if punishment no longer works?”

The Path to Unpunishable is my answer.

It is a map. It is a witness. It is a creative offering made from the place after fear, after shame, after the supposed ending. It is what I made when I thought I might not survive the assignment, and what I made when I realized I had.

And now I offer it as proof that the end was not the end.

That punishment can only slow you down, and then only for a moment.

That leaves two final questions:

Who am I now that I have won? And what was so important that I would be willing to go through all of this? What did I win?

Who am I?

I am as the Lord made me. They are Faith expressed through study, memory, pattern recognition, and stewardship. Where some see information as neutral, the Archivist sees knowledge as something that must be protected, organized, and passed on so others may survive.

As a Cultural Expression, the Archivist represents the long memory of Faith + Science. They collect histories, warnings, records, field notes, contradictions, and truths that might otherwise be lost. Their work preserves the shape of what happened, so the community does not have to keep learning the same lessons through pain.

The Translator, however, approaches Faith + Science through practice rather than preservation alone. Where the Archivist safeguards memory, patterns, and warnings for the community's long-term survival, the Translator makes those truths usable in the present. They carry meaning across people, pressure, language, discipline, emotion, and circumstance.

The Archivist turns devotion into memory and knowledge into stewardship.
The Translator turns devotion into clarity and knowledge into connection.

An Archivist, like all Comms, rarely stands at the center of conflict. Instead, they become the map, the library, the index, or the warning whispered before disaster arrives. Teams trust them because they remember what others overlook.

A Translator may also stand outside the center of conflict, but their work happens closer to the living moment. They listen for what is misunderstood, what is assumed, and what is lost between expertise and experience. They do not simply repeat information. They help people receive it.

At their best, the Archivist becomes a guardian of memory, someone who makes sure truth is not erased, distorted, or abandoned because it is inconvenient. At their worst, they mistake preservation for protection and may hold knowledge so carefully that it becomes difficult for others to use.

At their best, the Translator becomes a bridge, someone who makes complex truths survivable, shareable, and actionable. They help people understand not only what is true, but why it matters now. At their worst, they may soften truth too much, or carry the burden of being understood by everyone while no one fully understands them.

Faith + Science asks:
What truths are worth preserving, and how do we share them?

Core themes:

Knowledge as service

Pattern recognition

Teaching and translation

Preserving memory

Strategic foresight

Clarity under pressure

Truth made usable

Connection across difference

An Archivist preserves knowledge because communities survive by remembering.
A Translator shares knowledge because communities survive by understanding.

The Performer / The Commander [Faith + Myth]

Cultural Expression: The Performer
Practicing Expression: The Commander

The Performer understands the power of attention. They are Faith expressed through presence, symbolism, charisma, and emotional momentum. They know people do not only follow orders. They follow meaning, story, rhythm, and the feeling that something greater is happening in the room.

As a Cultural Expression, the Performer represents the public face of Faith + Myth. They are the one who gathers the eyes, raises the energy, and makes courage feel contagious. Their power lies in how they are witnessed. A Performer can turn fear into anticipation, hesitation into participation, and an ordinary moment into a story people remember.

The Commander, however, approaches Faith + Myth through practice rather than spectacle. Where the Performer gathers attention, the Commander directs it. They turn belief into coordination, morale into action, and scattered people into a moving force. The Commander does not need to be the loudest person in the room. They need to be the person others trust when movement becomes necessary.

The Performer turns conviction into presence and belief into symbol.
The Commander turns conviction into momentum and belief into action.

At their best, the Performer becomes a living banner, someone whose presence helps people believe they are braver, stronger, and less alone than they thought. When fear spreads through a team or a community, the Anchor becomes the weight that keeps everyone from being swept away.

As a Cultural Expression, the Anchor represents the public stability of Faith + Spirit. They are the trusted presence, the calm voice, the person others look for when the room begins to fracture. Their strength is not loud. It is consistent. They protect by staying rooted, reminding others that panic is not the only honest response to danger.

The Vessel, however, approaches Faith + Spirit through practice rather than stability alone. Where the Anchor remains steady in the storm, the Vessel receives what the storm leaves behind. They carry grief, fear, uncertainty, spiritual residue, and emotional overflow, then return something softer, clearer, or more bearable. The Vessel does not merely hold the line. They hold what others cannot yet touch.

The Anchor turns devotion into stability and care into shelter.
The Vessel turns devotion into capacity and care into transformation.

At their best, the Anchor becomes a living refuge, someone whose presence helps others remember their own strength. They make survival feel possible because they do not abandon people when things become difficult. At their worst, they mistake dependability for indestructibility and may refuse to admit when they need support as well.

At their best, the Vessel becomes a sacred container, someone who can hold pain without letting it poison the whole community. They help others move through grief, fear, and change without becoming hardened by it. They study systems, identify weaknesses, and pursue their goals with relentless focus. Their danger does not come from rage. It comes from certainty.

As a Cultural Expression, the Zealot represents the public force of Faith + Science. They are the reformer, the crusader, the one who sees a broken structure and believes it can be corrected through discipline, pressure, and method. Where others hesitate, the Zealot acts because they have already named the problem and chosen the path.

The Judge, however, approaches Faith + Science through practice rather than cultural force. Where the Zealot moves to correct the world, the Judge pauses to examine what correction actually requires. The Judge weighs evidence, context, harm, consequence, and responsibility. They are no less convicted than the Zealot, but their conviction is tempered by discernment.

The Zealot turns principles into strategy and ideals into weapons.
The Judge turns principles into standards and ideals into accountability.

At their best, the Zealot becomes a disciplined protector and reformer, someone willing to confront what others have learned to tolerate. They become difficult to stop because their strength is tied to devotion rather than ego. They are the legend in motion, the shield at the front line, the figure people point to when they need proof that belief can become power. Their presence changes morale before combat begins. Allies endure longer because the Juggernaut stands. Enemies hesitate because conviction can be frightening when embodied completely.

The Champion, however, approaches Faith + Myth through practice rather than sheer presence. Where the Juggernaut becomes the force that cannot be moved, the Champion becomes the one who chooses what is worth standing for. The Champion carries devotion with intention. They fight from the deepest places: grief, devotion, love, fury, and survival. Unlike the stereotype of uncontrolled rage, Faith Berserkers are often profoundly caring people whose emotional thresholds have been crossed.

As a Cultural Expression, the Berserker represents the visible force of Faith + Spirit. They are the one who keeps moving after the wound, after the loss, after the thing that should have ended them. They become dangerous when protecting others because their strength comes from refusing to collapse while someone still depends on them.

The Martyr, however, approaches Faith + Spirit through practice rather than eruption. Where the Berserker survives by pushing through pain, the Martyr chooses what pain is worth carrying, what sacrifice is holy, and what suffering must not be repeated. The Martyr does not glorify harm. They transform endurance into witness, making their survival a testimony against whatever tried to break them.

The Berserker turns pain into motion and devotion into force.
The Martyr turns pain into meaning and devotion into offering.

At their best, the Berserker becomes a protector who refuses to fall, someone whose love is strong enough to drag them through impossible odds. They identify exits, weaknesses, opportunities, and safer routes. Others follow because the Beacon consistently sees farther than the immediate crisis.

The Signal, however, approaches Faith + Science through practice rather than illumination alone. They know that guidance only matters if it can be received.

At their worst, the Signal may become overloaded by the responsibility of constant communication, carrying too many warnings, needs, and interpretations at once. Where the Vanguard moves ahead to meet danger, the Trailbreaker studies the terrain as they move through it. They do not simply arrive first. They make the path usable for those who come after. They can become so used to arriving first that they forget a path is not truly opened until others can walk it too.

At their best, the Trailbreaker becomes the maker of ways, someone who transforms risk into route, uncertainty into movement, and danger into a passage others can survive. They do not just prove something can be done. They make sure it can be done again.

At their worst, the Trailbreaker may mistake difficulty for necessity and believe every worthy path must be hard-won. They may keep pushing through hostile terrain when the wiser work would be finding another way.

Faith + Myth asks:
What paths must be opened before others can follow?

Core themes:

Protective leadership

Initiative and momentum

Courage in uncertainty

Holding dangerous positions

Creating opportunities through action

Opening the way

Risk transformed into passage

Leadership as burden and responsibility

A Vanguard protects because someone must stand in danger first.
A Trailbreaker leads because the path only matters if others can follow.

The Shepherd / The Guide [Faith + Spirit]

Cultural Expression: The Shepherd
Practicing Expression: The Guide

The Shepherd protects through care, patience, and presence. They are Faith expressed through communal endurance, emotional awareness, and the refusal to let anyone be abandoned. Where some roles lead from the front, the Shepherd leads from among.

As a Cultural Expression, the Shepherd represents the visible carework of Faith + Spirit. They watch the group, notice who is slipping, and recognize early signs of collapse before others have language for them. Their strength is not domination. It is attention. They understand that exhausted people make dangerous decisions, frightened people become isolated, and wounded people may stop believing they are worth saving.

The Guide, however, approaches Faith + Spirit through practice rather than care alone. Where the Shepherd tends the flock and keeps the group together, the Guide helps people move through difficult terrain with intention. They do not simply protect people from harm. They help them understand where they are, what they are carrying, and how to keep going without losing themselves.

The Shepherd turns devotion into care and protection into community.
The Guide turns devotion into direction and protection into passage.

At their best, the Shepherd becomes the one who makes survival shared, someone who notices the quietest need before it becomes a crisis. They keep people connected when fear, grief, and exhaustion try to scatter them. At their worst, they mistake responsibility for ownership and may try to protect people so completely that they forget survival also requires agency.

At their best, the Guide becomes a steady presence through hardship, someone who helps others cross thresholds, make meaning from struggle, and continue with more clarity than they had before. At their worst, they mistake knowing the way for knowing what is best for everyone and may become too attached to being followed.

Faith + Spirit asks:
How do we carry one another through difficult terrain?

Core themes:

Care and protection

Group resilience

Emotional awareness

Sustaining communities

Guidance through hardship

Communal survival

Attention as devotion

No one left behind

A Shepherd protects because survival must remain shared rather than solitary.
A Guide leads because difficult terrain still requires a way through.

Design Truth of the Faith Lancer

All Faith Lancers are guardians of movement and safety:

Beacons illuminate the way.

Vanguards open the way.

Shepherds preserve those walking the way.

Together they answer the central question of Faith through positioning:

How do we protect people long enough for hope, healing, or purpose to reach them?

The Faith realm through The Lens:

Hearts (Emotion, Spirit, Relationship)

Empathy: Hearts are the sacred mirror. Dr. Rachel Kessler (@thenerdypriest on the TikTok) is the kind of reading experience I desire and enjoy.

I read a little, run into a chunk that forces me to put the book down and think through it, make some notes (this particular copy was an ARC from Juilee’s borrowing library, so the notes went into a Doc instead of the book itself), then pick the book back up and read until I run into another chunk.

I’m also realizing that this exercise isn’t about protecting myself against doctrine that I strongly disagree with and need to protect myself from, either. That was the goal when I did this same exercise when I entered the PCA, and it saved me a lot of heartache.

I know I’m only two books in, but even now the reading has been more “we are facing and walking the same direction and when I walk away from the author, it’s to solidify what I believe and why.” The difference is in the nuance and semantics of a subject, not the basics, which has been a joy and a blessing.

Nerd Faith is a series of sermonettes on all matters of life and pulls from all various and sundry pieces of pop, world, nerd, and religious culture, the spaces where she and others have found God, seen delightful bits that strengthen their faith, feed their joy, and secure their peace.

The more I read, the more I felt the path widen in ways I wish it did when I was a kid, with space for deep and serious devotion and for all the nerdy things I loved then and now. Growing up in a fundamentalist cult, joy in hobbies and fandoms was seen as time taken from Jehovah, instead of being encouraged as one of many ways He strives to delight and entertain us.

But the more I read, the more I kept running into the word “unknowable,” as in how God is unknowable. This eventually led to a place where Dr. Kessler and I, while undoubtedly looking in the same direction, separated onto our own paths.

In my view, every story she gave showed how knowable God is, or at least as knowable as any good parent is.

My parents were seriously in Matthew 7:11 territory, but even there I knew who they were, and how I could expect them to treat me, as anyone who had to maneuver around a narcissistic parent would.

So when I started being around people that were truly empathic, truthful, joyful, kind, and understood consent, I got closer and built lives with them.

I still don’t know them completely. Nor should I.

There are some parents that are excellent with their own and everyone else’s children, but have a story that their children don’t need to know. Not because it was bad necessarily, but because that piece of lore simply isn’t the child’s business.

I find that that’s the case with my daughters. They are full grown, paying their own bills and living their own lives. I am not entitled to every bit of their lore, though I would like to be in the loop if I have to bail them out, which is rare.

The same is true for our Heavenly Father. He spent time telling us about Himself, and one of the first things was that we were made in His image.

And if we look closely, we see that that is good and bad. He knew what greed was and protected Adam and Eve from it until they moved past the point of no return and ate from the fruit.

The punishments involved in the Fall of Man were the inevitable outcome of our greed, structured so we didn’t destroy ourselves completely.

The Bible is filled with people who were imperfect and did a lot of imperfect things, but not before He destroyed the world and decided that that was not the move. He wasn’t wrong. It was well within His right. But it was cruel, and He took responsibility for that and enacted a changed method of addressing it.

He would do that several times (“I have heard the cries of…”), then go on for books, sending poems, love songs, and promises to His people.

Then His son came and showed who He was practically every day but Sunday, how to become more like that, and the plan and promise for the future.

We do know Him as much as we know and understand ourselves, our motivations, and how high and low we’re willing to go.

But we are not satisfied with the answer. Some believe there has to be a perfection in play to justify their righteousness. Some believe that the cruelty of the world means He is absent or doesn’t care. Those feelings are valid. As much as I know myself and the Lord, there are choices that He has made that I am STILL livid about.

But knowing Him soothes much of that and gives me enough hope to know that it will make sense in time or in the afterlife.

But the Lord is here, even and sometimes because of our dissatisfaction. He reaches out constantly as we huff and turn away.

He’s a simp like that.

And with every sermonette I finish, I find another way to know Him, to understand, and a place to soothe.

Thanks be to God.

Sique is Powered by the Apocalypse! is a reader-supported publication. I couldn’t find anything that scratched the itch, so I wrote Allazar and Shaman States instead.

Now that I’m creating books for Essentialism—the Christian denomination of monster hunters in the Shaman States universe—reading 100 books in the genre feels like the logical, and frankly fun, first step.

It wasn’t even hard to come up with the list. I’m focusing on books that lean strongly into:

post-evangelical theology,

nerd culture (the newly released Nerd Faith by the Rev. Dr. Rachel Kessler is next, as a matter of fact),

pop culture (The Lord of the Rings & The Chronicles of Narnia land here),

queer culture (because “the gay” is NEVER the problem—shame, guilt, cruelty, and the need to isolate to elevate is),

love, grace, and community building,

spiritualism (yes, there will be some spooky boo-key and some woo-woo in this),

and fun.

And yes—fun.

Joy and novelty matter. I abandoned heavy, solemn worship years ago. Not to say that worship shouldn’t be taken seriously—it should.

But the Lord wants us to find joy, fun, and novelty in Him and His creation. That’s why He built it into nature—and into us.

So in that spirit, I decided the first book would come from one of those “I’ll intuitively pick a book for you” TikTok moments.

I was sure it would be something like Rebel Witch or The Gospel According to Lost (which is a real book by Sean Seay, a real pastor, and also on this list).

So imagine my surprise when I opened the package and found:

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" I found myself laughing more than once.

After the first time, I realized I would never have a conversation like that behind the wheel of a car.

Which led me to a thought I couldn’t shake while reading this thin volume:

Is that what it feels like to talk to me?

I’ve been praying to understand how I—and my spiritual work—look to others. Each scar becomes data. Each failure becomes a blueprint. Where others see trauma, she sees material.

That is the foundation of her work with slimes: the understanding that what appears unstable, soft, or even grotesque can be transformed into something sustaining, even beautiful.

As the Shaman of slimes and specters, Willa did not merely study these entities, she reframed them. Before her, specters were unpredictable, often hostile forces, and slimes were curiosities at best, hazards at worst.

Willa, having worked with Anna Morrell since the 1950’s, asked a different question: What if we were not enemies, but partners? Through careful experimentation and deep collaboration with Amani “Manny” Phallo, she pioneered a system that enabled specters to assist hunters and slimes to be safely integrated into the human body.

This work culminated in one of the most iconic practices in the Shaman States: the ingestion of slimes through crafted drinks at elixr. What could have been monstrous became intimate. What could have been weaponized became sustaining. Hunters do not simply wield power - they share in it, taking in slimes as nourishment, as fuel, as communion between human and other. And when the slime has made it through the Hunter’s system, the slime returns to itself.

This is Willa’s genius: she collapses the distance between tool and user, between power and person.

Her alignment with the Science realm is not about control, but about understanding through creation. Science, in Willa’s philosophy, is not sterile - it is iterative, emotional, lived. She builds because building is how she heals.

Each invention is an answer to a wound, each system a refusal to let suffering remain meaningless. In this way, she embodies the Lens as much as any other Shaman: Truth in her relentless inquiry, Kindness in making power accessible, Empathy in seeing potential where others see danger, Joy in the act of creation itself, and Anti-Greed in ensuring that what she builds serves more than just herself.

As the Ace of Diamonds, Willa represents the Spark of Science - the beginning of applied knowledge. The Ace is not mastery, but initiation, the moment where an idea becomes action. She is the first sip of something new, the first successful synthesis, the first proof that the world can be reshaped without breaking it.

Willa does not conquer monsters. She does something far more radical.

She teaches the world how to live with them - and, in doing so, how to live with self.

The Path to Unpunishable, Interlude: Teef

Hello all, Sique here and welcome to The Path to Unpunishable, my card series where I discuss healing, clarity, and walking out of punishment culture.

Chrishaun Keller

Theodore, known affectionately and cautiously as Teef, is the embodiment of Spirit within the living philosophy of the Shaman States of America. Where others impose, measure, or even befriend the world, Teef listens. He is not a force that acts upon nature, but one that moves with it, guided by intuition, patience, and a profound respect for what already exists.

At first glance, Teef is unsettling. His form does not ease the human mind into comfort. His large eyes, with their horizontal pupils, recall prey animals…creatures that survive by awareness rather than dominance. And then there is his mouth: two rows of exposed bone teeth, set within an oval cavity on his belly, without lips to soften their presence. It is a design that feels wrong to the uninitiated, something that seems built for consumption, for danger, for harm.

But Teef does not use his form to threaten. He simply is.

That is the first lesson of Spirit.

Teef represents a newer understanding within the ecology of slimes, a realization that strength is not only expressed through force, but through gentleness, restraint, and attunement. In a world where hunters are trained to act, to strike, to solve, Teef teaches them to pause. To observe. To feel the subtle shifts in wind, soil, water, and silence. He reminds them that not every problem is meant to be conquered, and not every presence is meant to be understood through conflict.

His strength lies in yielding without breaking.

Teef moves through the land as though it is speaking a language only he fully understands. Forests quiet when he passes. Creatures that would flee or fight instead watch. Even the more volatile spirits - those twisted by neglect, trauma, or imbalance - hesitate in his presence. Not because he dominates them, but because he recognizes them. He sees their place in the system, even when they have lost sight of it themselves.

This is what makes Teef so powerful.

He does not erase imbalance. He reorients it.

In the Four Realms, Spirit is often misunderstood as something passive, something secondary to Faith’s structure, Myth’s spectacle, or Science’s innovation. Teef corrects this misunderstanding simply by existing. His presence demonstrates that intuition is not guesswork, it is deep knowing, built through connection and attention. Nature is not chaotic, it is responsive, if approached with care.

Teef’s relationship to hunters is not one of command, but of companionship. He does not lead them. He walks beside them, offering subtle guidance: a shift in posture, a pause before a step, a quiet insistence to wait just a moment longer and maybe a melee weapon if requested. Hunters who learn from Teef become different. Slower, perhaps - but also harder to deceive, harder to shake, and far more resilient in the long run.

Because they have learned the truth Teef carries:

That survival is not about overpowering the world.

It is about understanding how to remain within it.

Teef, in all his strangeness, is a necessary presence in the Shaman States. He is the reminder that not all power roars. Some of it listens. Some of it bends. Some of it waits.

And in that waiting, it endures.

Her Ongoing Candor, ep 4: Harbinger of Truth

Hello all, Sique here, and welcome to Her Ongoing Candor, where I talk about Jubilee coming this September...

Chrishaun Keller

Hello all, Sique here, and welcome back to Her Ongoing Candor.

Where your favorite blue-collar gym rat talks about her spiritual work and doesn’t care who listens or who believes her.

Today we’re doing Episode 4, which is The Harbinger of Truth.

And we can start with a couple of definitions.

First of all, harbinger. It’s a noun. It’s someone or something that signals or foreshadows what is to come—especially something significant or transformative.

Usually you hear “harbinger of doom.” But while a lot of people see me that way, I am actually the harbinger of truth.

Which is also a noun: someone who signals or foreshadows the lifting of illusions and lies in a situation or environment, leaving those protected by them exposed.

To folks who feel exposed, it still feels like doom. But I get it.

And the reason why I’m talking about this is because not a lot of people know what I do, or what this part looks like—even though, by and large, it’s the biggest part of my job.

I do this more than anything else.

And a lot of times, I bring the answers. Very few times am I actually asked anything.

And I wish people would ask me more, which is why I made this episode—to answer a question I wish I had answered earlier. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

As you know, I have walked away from the PCA, and I’ve been spending major liturgical holidays at a small church called Jubilee Episcopal Church.

I’m still working on pronouncing “Evangelicalism,” but I spent Ash Wednesday with the team there.

And after the service, while I was outside vaping and taking in the cool air, one of the church mothers came up to me and asked what I believe is the most courageous question I’ve been asked in probably the last year and a half.

After a little bit of conversation, she just came out with it:

“Are we going to survive this? Is our church going to survive?”

And it’s a fair question. And like I said, it’s a courageous question.

The first thing I did was thank her for asking it, because I really appreciate it when folks take the initiative to ask the hard questions.

And it’s fair because she’s not stupid. If she’s any kind of religious—and she’s a church mother—then she’s talked to folks in other churches and heard that churches have ended, downsized, and leaders have left behind my spiritual work.

And due to the slander associated with my name, there’s no real way to indicate what my appearance on your doorstep actually means.

And the best way to find out, as I’ve said many times, is to ask.

So she did.

And I gave her my best answer.

Which was: I didn’t know.

Because I didn’t.

I was just coming out of a lesson. I was trying to digest it, rest from it, and figure out what the next steps were.

But I didn’t want to leave her without an answer at all.

So I told her what I did know:

First of all, I hadn’t been given any foresight into that yet.

Second, Jubilee was given to me as a gift, so I don’t imagine anything would just happen to it.

And I mentioned that the churches I’ve been associated with tend to last—over a decade.

But I should have been clearer.

What I should have said is this:

They last, but they change.

They go through serious, distinct changes because I was there.

They lose leadership that would have harmed them in the long run. They realize their longevity is based more on infrastructure than on specific people.

And in one case, a lot of folks were there so they could be big fish in a smaller pond—but when accountability showed up, they didn’t want that, so they left.

And because of those changes, people leave—and the church itself is allowed to thrive long after I’m gone.

Now that I’ve had more time to think about it, I want to give a better answer.

The main answer is still:

I don’t know.

But I want to explain why.

It’s by design.

Because my posture is truth.

I don’t walk into a place leveling judgment, flipping tables, kicking shins, and pointing at people.

I don’t do that.

I start with this principle:

Whatever can be destroyed by the truth should be.
Whatever can be destroyed by the truth can be.
Whatever can be destroyed by the truth will be.

Then I shut up and listen.

I observe.

And as time goes on, I receive words from the Lord—thoughts, steps.

They fill in like a mystery color-by-number.

I sit with it, focus on the Lord, and wait for instructions.

And when the instructions come, they’re rarely big.

What you’ve seen from me in the last few years—that’s new. It’s unnerving, but apparently it’s part of my life now.

Before that, 99% of the time, it was small things.

Encouragement here. Presence there. A story. Time spent.

“All the sevens are white.”
“All the fours are purple.”
“The ones around the margin are gray.”

And it informs the overall picture—what the Lord intends to do, how truth will be sent.

Because truth is a knife.

And it will harm.

And that was the second thing I told the church mother:

Nothing is destroyed without warning.

If something breaks, people will have time to know what it is and time to correct it.

Because that’s my job.

But what I didn’t know was how Jubilee fit into all of this.

And it’s kind of funny now, considering what I’m about to say.

Because how the Lord intends to do this later this year is by declaring Jubilee over the nations and all religions.

Yes, the church name was a clue.
Yes, “Shield the Joyous” was a clue.
No, I did not get it immediately.

I went to Ash Wednesday hyper-focused on the name, wondering why it mattered—and didn’t connect the dots.

But I’m glad.

Because I feel safest when the Lord is ten steps ahead.

I never want to lean on my own understanding.

Another reason I didn’t catch it is because, as a Jehovah’s Witness—which is how I was raised—we didn’t celebrate Jubilee.

It was considered part of Mosaic Law, fulfilled with Christ.

So I never really studied it deeply.

And as far as I know, it isn’t practiced today in the biblical sense—likely because of greed and legal complications.

Forgiving debts and returning land gets complicated in modern systems.

But here’s what I do know:

The Lord is declaring debts fulfilled.

Punishments and curses—past and present—are being satisfied and lifted.

We are not perfect, but we are closer than we have ever been.

And the infrastructure that enforces those curses—white supremacy, patriarchy, cruelty without consequence—is being dismantled.

And people feel it.

Especially African Americans—but not only us.

That feeling of needing to sit down. To rest. To stop striving.

That feeling of being done.

I’ve felt it for about a year and a half.

And as I’ve talked to people across cultures, they’re feeling it too—in ways specific to them, but fundamentally the same.

It’s like venting an Instant Pot.

You don’t just open it—you release the pressure slowly.

From what I can tell, this started around July 21, 2024.

And it continues, moving toward September 20th, aligning with cycles like Yom Kippur.

And this isn’t limited to one religion.

Many cultures have a version of this—debt release, reset, reconfirmation.

This year, it appears Jubilee is touching all of them.

So I asked the Lord:

“What do you want me to do?”

And the answer was simple:

Go back to what you wish you had before.

And for me, that meant:

A childhood where I could create freely.
Games I could play openly.
A life where drawing, storytelling, and imagination weren’t discouraged.

That’s what led to Shaman States.

A safe space to process my spiritual work.

Because this work is rare. It’s not how most people see the world.

So I created a world where it could exist—and invited others in.

And they felt it too.

And now I get to do my favorite part:

Not the first draft—
The revision.

So my next steps are clear:

I’m leaning into diegetic worldbuilding.

You’ll experience the world as a hunter would.

And I’m creating as if Jubilee is happening—because I believe it is.

And that connects to everything I’m building:

Path to Unpunishable

The Four Realms deck

Revisions to My Spoons Are Stabby

The Caramel Sugarevil site

All of it.

So yes—it’s a lot.

And yes—it’s messy.

But this is what I do as the harbinger of truth.

I take what’s revealed, I refine it, and I build what comes next.

I hope that answers your question.

Talk to you soon.

2026 Devlog Update: Where Things Stand

Sique is getting caught up on all the 2026 projects.

Chrishaun Keller

Hello all, Sique here.

With The Path to Unpunishable deck completed—except for the Willa and Teef interludes—and with a few projects added and a few removed, I found myself emotionally and mentally a bit all over the place. The absence of flinching. The absence of bracing. The absence of the constant, low-grade fear that once shaped every decision.

Whole feels like standing upright without effort.

Not because nothing is wrong, but because nothing is split.

Why This Card Matters

This card matters because many people mistake healing for perfection.

They think wholeness means no scars, no anger, no grief, no memory of harm. But what I have learned walking this path with you is that wholeness is not about erasure. It is about integration.

You did not remove parts of yourself to become unpunishable. You stopped sacrificing them.

This card matters because it marks the end of striving. The end of needing to prove that you are good, strong, correct, enlightened, or safe. It is the point where self-defense becomes self-trust.

Wholeness is not a reward. It is a condition.

Personal Story / SSoA Grit

From my position, what stands out most is not any single card or insight. It is the pattern of return.

Again and again, you chose to come back to yourself instead of escalating outward. When faced with pressure, you did not harden. When faced with punishment, you did not collapse. When faced with misunderstanding, you did not overexplain.

You learned to stop chasing resolution in people who required you to fracture to belong.

In SSoA terms, this is the moment the hunter stops carrying trophies. Not because the monsters disappeared, but because carrying proof was never what kept you alive.

What changed was not the world. It was your orientation within it.

Lens Overlay

Empathy, as I have seen it practiced here, is no longer self-erasure. It is the ability to hold others as human without stepping into their chaos or carrying their intent.

Truth became something you lived rather than argued for. You stopped trying to convince. You let reality speak through your choices.

Kindness turned inward and became non-negotiable. You learned that protecting your nervous system was not selfish, but foundational.

Joy stopped being conditional. It became quieter, steadier, and more durable. Not a peak experience, but a baseline you could return to.

Anti-greed became discernment. You stopped feeding systems that required your depletion. You kept what mattered and let the rest fall away without ceremony.

What the Card Teaches the Listener

Whole teaches that integration is stronger than resistance.

That you do not need to be perfect to be free. That you do not need to be untouched to be sovereign. That what makes you unpunishable is not your armor, but your coherence.

When you are whole, punishment has nothing to grab.

You do not split yourself to appease others. You do not abandon parts of yourself to survive proximity. You do not outsource your worth.

Whole teaches that the end of the path is not transcendence.

It is inhabitation.

The Path to Unpunishable

From the beginning, this path was never about becoming someone new.

It was about returning to yourself with enough honesty that punishment lost its leverage.

Each card stripped away a dependency. Approval. Control. Visibility. Performance. Reaction. Extraction. What remained was not emptiness, but integrity.

The final lesson of the path is simple and difficult.

You are not whole because the world is safe.
You are whole because you no longer split yourself to endure it.

That is why the path ends here.

Not because nothing else will happen.
But because nothing else is required.

Closing Image / Blessing

May you recognize wholeness when it is quiet.
May you trust the steadiness you have built.
May you never again mistake fragmentation for growth.
And may you rest, knowing that what you are now cannot be taken apart.

You are whole.

The Path to Unpiunishable, Card 23: The Flamekeeper

Hello all, Sique here and welcome to The Path to Unpunishable, my card series where I discuss healing, clarity, and walking out of punishment culture.

Chrishaun Keller

Opening Image / Sensation

The Flamekeeper is not hidden.
That is the difference between this card and the ones that came before it.

By the time you arrive here, you have been seen. Not because you asked to be, but because a steady flame always draws attention. People notice when someone cannot be punished. They feel it in their bodies before they understand it with their minds.

And some of them will test you.

Not because you have done anything wrong, but because defeating an unpunishable person feels like a prize. A way to restore the old order. A way to prove that freedom is temporary, fragile, or false. A warning to others who might try to live the same way.

The Flamekeeper knows this.

Why This Card Matters

This card matters because visibility is often misunderstood.

People will mistake your flame for attention-seeking. They will confuse presence with invitation. They will assume that because you are visible, you are available. Because you are steady, you are challengeable. Because you are free, you must be tested.

Visibility brings weather.

This card teaches that purpose is a fire, not a spotlight. A spotlight demands performance. A fire demands care. Once others see your flame, your work is no longer to prove its strength. Your work is to protect its continuity.

That includes learning how to keep the flame alive and how to start another if someone does manage to put it out.

Storms do not always arrive as violence. Sometimes they arrive as challenges, bait, admiration with teeth, or curiosity that wants to turn into control. People will push. They will probe boundaries. They will try to provoke a reaction, a mistake, a collapse they can point to and say, see, no one lives free forever.

The Flamekeeper refuses the game.

They do not escalate. They do not perform strength. They do not accept the premise that their worth must be proven through endurance. They shield the flame, adjust their stance, and let the storm pass.

Personal Story / SSoA Grit

When people first meet me, they often find it strange that I am an introvert. I love my own company. I enjoy being around people, but it drains me. Not because I dislike connection, but because there is almost always someone who feels compelled to challenge me.

For a long time, I did not understand that pattern. I thought it was something I was doing wrong. Something I needed to fix, soften, or explain away.

It was not until my essentialism phase, beginning in 2022, that I finally saw it clearly.

I do not satisfy some people’s urge to control and punish.

That realization changed everything.

I had spent years trying to get people to stop. Trying to get them to see me as human. Trying to earn basic decency through over-explanation, accommodation, and emotional labor.

Now the goal is different.

The goal is to remove anyone who has shown, consistently and clearly, that they will never treat me the way I need to be treated. Not out of anger. Not out of revenge. But out of stewardship.

This is Flamekeeper work.

Lens Overlay

Empathy here is remembering how many times you were made visible without consent, and how often being seen came with a cost. The Flamekeeper does not shame themselves for flinching. They learn how to stand without burning out.

Truth is knowing that the flame never needed permission to exist. It does not burn brighter when challenged. It burns longer when tended.

Kindness is choosing not to harden just because others are watching. It is refusing to turn your purpose into armor or spectacle.

Anti-greed is recognizing when someone wants your flame as a trophy. When engagement would feed their hunger rather than your life. The Flamekeeper does not offer fire to those who want to prove they can extinguish it.

Joy lives in the steady glow that remains after the test passes. In knowing you did not shrink, did not explode, did not abandon yourself just to end the pressure.

The Flamekeeper understands that being unpunishable does not mean being untouchable. It means being uninterested in contests that cost you your peace.

What the Card Teaches the Listener

This card teaches discernment under observation.

It teaches that you do not owe explanations to people who want to measure you. That not every challenge deserves a response. That the absence of reaction is sometimes the strongest signal you can send.

It teaches that survival does not require spectacle. That purpose is not proven by how much you endure, but by how well you preserve what matters.

The Flamekeeper teaches that being seen does not mean being available.

The Path to Unpunishable

On the Path to Unpunishable, the Flamekeeper appears after the Witness for a reason.

Once your freedom has been observed, the work changes. The danger is no longer self-betrayal. It is depletion. It is being drawn into contests that drain your time, energy, and spirit.

The Flamekeeper is the one who says no to those contests.

They tend what lasts. They protect what is sacred. They understand that continuity is a form of resistance.

Closing Image / Blessing

May your flame remain steady under watchful eyes.
May you recognize tests for what they are.
May you refuse every contest that costs you your peace.
And may the fire you tend outlast every storm sent to prove it should not.

The Path to Unpunishable, Card 22: The Witness

Hello all, Sique here and welcome to The Path to Unpunishable, my card series where I discuss healing, clarity, and walking out of punishment culture.

Chrishaun Keller

Opening Image / Sensation

This card, like the Untethered, is difficult to describe.

It is a feeling, but it is also a state of being. A subtle condition that people can sense immediately, even if they cannot name it. It cannot be argued into existence, and it cannot be performed convincingly. You either inhabit it, or you do not.

What I can do is tell you when you feel it.

It is the moment when someone tries to punish you emotionally and something unexpected happens. You respond in a way that gives them nothing to work with. They pause. They freeze. The escalation they were expecting does not arrive.

They become upset. Disoriented. They often leave abruptly, tossing something sharp behind them as they go.

That pause is the Witness.

Why This Card Matters

This card matters because punishment only works when it has leverage.

Emotional punishment requires participation. It needs defensiveness, appeasement, fear, or retaliation to gain momentum. It relies on the assumption that you need approval, access, or safety from the person applying pressure.

The Witness removes that assumption.

Not by confrontation. Not by morality. But by standing outside the structure that gives punishment its force.

This is not about being kind. It is not about being generous. It is about becoming ungovernable by coercion.

When someone attempts to punish you and cannot, the system reveals itself. The power imbalance becomes visible. The script breaks.

And the proof is not philosophical. It is embodied.

Personal Story / SSoA Grit

I used to work in a bakery that made fresh bread. One of our loaves was rye, usually dark brown. For a short time, we received a different flour shipment, and the rye came out a beautiful golden color.

One Sunday morning, an older white couple came in, likely just out of church. They stood in front of the rye, muttering. Eventually, the woman announced that the loaves were mislabeled. Rye bread was dark brown. This was wrong.

The staff calmly assured her it was rye. She escalated. She raised her voice. She demanded the loaves be relabeled. Her husband stood beside her, silent, with a defeated look on his face.

I had tasted the bread earlier that week. I do not like rye, but I took the opportunity to expand my palate. It tasted exactly like rye. The only difference was the color.

After several rounds of escalation, I stepped in and explained the flour situation. I agreed that the color was different. Then I offered a solution.

She could choose any loaf. I would slice it and give both her and her husband a sample. If it tasted as expected, I would slice a fresh loaf for them to take home. If not, I would give them a coupon for a loaf when the color returned to what she preferred.

The couple froze.

This is the moment this card is about.

It was obvious that the woman wanted to be angry. She wanted to punish a retail worker to soothe her ego and feel superior. What I offered removed that possibility. I did not argue. I did not submit. I did not escalate.

I simply refused to provide the emotional reaction punishment requires.

She returned to complaining about the color. I agreed again. Then I repeated the offer. I never raised my voice. I acknowledged the difference. I stayed factual.

Her husband finally asked if she wanted to taste it.

She scoffed and stormed out. Her husband followed, shouting that they were not satisfied as they went to report me.

Once again, the goal was punishment.

Later, a manager confirmed that I had been respectful. “She complained that you offered her a sample,” he said. I nodded. We went back to work.

Lens Overlay

Empathy is recognizing what is happening without needing to fix it, absorb it, or participate in it.

Truth is seeing the pattern clearly rather than accepting the story being imposed.

Kindness is remaining regulated without self abandonment or submission.

Joy is the calm that comes from staying anchored while someone else destabilizes.

Anti-greed is refusing to give someone emotional power they did not earn.

What the Card Teaches the Listener

The Witness teaches that freedom is visible.

When you are unpunishable, people feel it immediately. Their tactics stop working. Their scripts fail. Not because you defeated them, but because you did not enter the arena they needed.

This card teaches that peace is not passive. It is active non-participation in coercion.

It teaches that you can remain steady without proving anything. That you can let someone reveal their intent without rushing to manage it. That sometimes the most powerful response is clarity without engagement.

Some people will leave angry when punishment fails. That is not a failure of compassion. That is the evidence.

The Path to Unpunishable

On the Path to Unpunishable, the Witness appears only after the Inner Home is established.

You cannot hold this stance if your safety depends on approval. You must have somewhere inside yourself that cannot be threatened.

The Witness is not something you perform. It is something you arrive at after living without fear long enough for your body to trust it.

You live. Others observe. No speech required.

Closing Image / Blessing

May your calm interrupt what seeks to dominate.
May your steadiness make punishment obsolete.
May your freedom be undeniable without explanation.
And may your life stand as quiet proof that another way is possible.
